#6 Oukaukuejo- night visitors

The young elephants enjoyed playing at the waterhole late at night

During June/July I visited Namibia and South Africa. I took 1000s of photos and will be sharing them for the following months.

For some reason, I've never thought of elephants at night . .

@Ronnie 2¢: I'm sure they don't sleep. In the early hours of the morning I would wake and look down over the waterhole and see a huge heard quietly drinking. For such huge animals they seem to walk on tippy toes.

Stephen from Canberra, Australia

Beautiful image - they look so gentle.

@Stephen: I think so too.

Elephants are so very playful - I'll bet you had a wonderful time watching them!

@Ruthiebear: We had the best time. Special treat was waking in the early hours and seeing a huge herd quietly moving around the waterhole. All seen from my bed - it was amazing.

omid from mashhad, Iran

Excellent!
