@Bruce: Ha ha:) Very clever @Jason Politte: The cycle trail passes several historic gold mining sites. In the 1890s, several gold mining companies erected batteries and cyanide plants and I imagine these are bits and pieces left over from the operation @Jules: Yes I thought so too, I'm sure this could be most helpful;) @marc battault: Yes a long history, it would date back to 1890s when there were several gold mining companies along this route. @Truels: It's beautiful landscape and just wonderful to explore on bike or foot. @Francisco Romero: Thanks Francisco, we really enjoy our cycle trails in NZ |
