#5 Gibbs Farm

Posted by
kiwisa (North Shore, New Zealand) on 3 April 2013 in Art & Design and Portfolio.

Lilliput Revisited:) Although this piece, made from steel tube and tensioned fabric, has the dubious name of Dismemberment, I think a Lilliputian reference is a better fit;) I loved how it sat in the landscape. This is the opposite side view from yesterday.

Must say I did not recognize it from the previous but can figure it now. What a unique experience it must be to visit - unreal like you have been saying.

@Ronnie 2¢: It was a unique experience and from each angle ( a few more photos following) it looks totally different.

Doug from Burnham-on-Sea, United Kingdom

Another superb view, this is such a place of wonder where the imagination has been given free rein

Jypyä Pop from Turku, Finland

People work next to give it the right dimensions. Amazing.

3 Apr 2013 7:32am

@Jypyä Pop: Yes it was exciting to see just how small everyone looked next to the installation.

Stephen from Canberra, Australia

Yes, I think your reference is excellent with the tiny figures scampering around this strange device. Almost like it is meant to blast out sounds or music!

@Stephen: Tip - a trumpet is what I thought

Another amazing sculpture. I like how you included the landscape in the background

3 Apr 2013 6:53pm

@Ruthiebear: I think it is a must to include the landscape in all the pieces - they were mostly designed with the position they are in, in mind.
